I have a bag of string that I have collected over the years in my prop kit, and I use it often when I style. I like these because they are wrapped on small pieces of wood, keeping it untangled and easy to use.

At NY Central art supply, on the 2nd floor paper department, they sell hand dyed cotton string in fantastic colors.
