Condiment Jars
Many years ago, when I started out as a stylist, I worked on magazine shoots. When you are prepping an editorial story, you reach out to many stores and vendors and borrow their merchandise in exchange for credit in the publication. As a result, I learned and discovered many off the grid businesses, and I really enjoyed the research and the success in finding great props.
One Christmas, early in my career, I received a small gift from a high end shop hidden away on Park Avenue. I was so excited about this. In the box, was my first antique crystal condiment jar. I coveted this gift. For me, I interpreted this special present as a positive symbol of the work I did my first year of styling.
This collection was slowly gathered throughout the years. The front center jar, is not a condiment jar at all, but a dental floss container. Once I found that, I was inspired to take this shot for What Bette Found. I like mixing the elegant with the most basic.
